We’re all for sales here at Modern Vintage Life, but what’s the point if everything you score is out of season by the time you hand over your credit card? If you wait around for next year, you end up off trend or feeling stale. We’re much more interested in timeless pieces that eliminate the time constraint, so the Nordstrom sale is right up our alley. We did some digging and found 4 fall wardrobe and beauty classics available at #NSale that actually put you ahead of the curve. If you’re a Nordstrom card holder you’ve probably already been shopping this week, but the rest of us are gearing up to fill our virtual carts on July 22nd.
Ah, the transition to fall. Ripe with change and nostalgia and the perfect booties with which to stomp around in those fallen leaves. From Steve Madden to Rag & Bone, now is the time to get the boot you’ll be living in for the next six months.
If you think a beauty set is only something you’ll give as a gift, think again. These little curated selections from your favorite brands can save a lot of money while knocking so many products off the season’s shopping list. The bareMinerals Hey Sugar set and Anastasia’s brow set are pretty much all I need for the fall. It’s also a good time to stock up on tools like brushes while you’re still all minimal and natural for summer, as you can perfect the whole look before the tans fade and the heavier product comes out. Ingredients for a smokey eye and fall nail colors are up for grabs too.
Not sure what it is about fall… Maybe it’s the threat of rain. Or maybe the need to store all the red lipsticks and a makeup bag full of product for those amped up beauty looks. Or the added warmth that an enormous bag provides when it’s at your side. Okay, probably not. But whatever it is, a tote bag is is never something you regret buying. I love one that will fit my makeup bag, wallet, a notebook or two, and whatever scarf I’ve layered on that day, so as to stay warm outside but not overheat.
Nothing compares to a good pair of jeans, yet shopping for something like beauty or bags is so much more enjoyable. It’s summer, so you might all but forget that you even own any jeans by time September rolls around, so we reccommend taking a little inventory of what you went into this season with, and what you actually want to sport when the temps drop back down in a few months. If you’ve got any gaps to fill, that’s where the sale comes in. Nothing like scoring on something that you would’ve had to splurge on anyway.
Does anyone else get obsessed with colored denim when fall trends start taking over? Olive and marsala become my new favorite colors. If you’re having trouble envisioning fall while reading this on an eighty or so degree day, just wait till you start looking at those boots… It all starts to come back, and even excite.
