Tucked away on Melrose Place (where I often visit my facialist at Kate Somerville) there is a little shop that anyone in town who loves vintage or makeup absolutely GUSHES about.
Violet Grey is the brainchild of Cassandra Grey, ambitious entrepreneur, expert in glamour, and the lovliest cross in style between Twiggy & Audrey Hepburn. The shoppe boasts a collection of one-of-a-kind vintage couture designer sketches, a “powder room” where clients sit in Dean Martin’s old cast chair and have their makeup applied by some of the best artists in LA, a small patio for light and sunny days (or twinkly cocktail parties) and, of course, a stunning supply of the creme-de-la-creme of beauty products. Just walking into Violet Grey transports me to an era of real glamour and I immediately find myself standing straighter, chin up higher, and wishing for a glass of champagne.

This Tuesday I was invited to join Cassandra and world renown makeup artist Bobbi Brown for a special event to benefit Girl Rising, an organization I am SO impressed with, which is making true strides towards the proven, single-most valuable investment any person, state or nation can make… Girl’s education.
Here is a clip from the Trailer for Girl Rising. You can find out more on their website.
I’ve also been getting a lot of requests for info on my outfit that night.
Here you are…

Sending love to you all and hoping you’re inspired to #EducateGirls and to be #SoViolet in your own way!
